The Singapore Marathon is an annual international marathon race which is an IAAF Gold Label Road Race. Participants in the 2019 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) will be able to enjoy a night-race experience, which will be flagged off at 6 pm. With close to 50,000 registered participants from 127 countries pushing their own limits in the various categories – The four categories are: the full marathon, the half marathon, the 10 kilometres run, and the 10 km wheelchair race.
All Full Marathon runners will race past the Padang where the National Gallery Singapore is located, downtown in the direction of the Central Business District and round back towards the Marina Bay Golf course. Towards the end, runners will enjoy the unique view of the city as they race past the Singapore Flyer towards the finish line amidst the spectacular Marina Bay city-scape.
The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon has bag deposit zones where runner will also be provided with clear bags and stickers tagged to their bib numbers at the Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC) at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. There will also be an addition of up to 15 hydration and cooling zones throughout the Half Marathon and Marathon routes.
There will also be 26 entertainment points where there will be performances by local bands, street performers, and cheerleaders will amp up energy levels and spur on runners.
